I’m new at the whole word press thing so please excuse me if this isn’t the right area to message you! I was wondering if I could ask some questions about your journey with Asl. I was just wanting to ask if you’d been familiar with sign language before you found out that your son was Deaf? How have you found the process of learning Asl? I’m impressed with your articles about the importance of language acquisition in children and how crucial it is to development – how do you deal with close minded people when they only push their position?

Sophie / I don’t know why I’m seeing this now but… no we knew nothing about Deaf culture or Deaf people or anything about the reality of Deaf was when we met our Heath. She showed us the way 🙂
